In 1933, Edward Bessenbacher saw a need for quality commercial credit services among regional companies in Kansas City. In Edward's mind, the local agencies missed the boat when it came to providing the level of personal service required by the industry. So despite a risky economy, Edward set out to service his friends and customers in the business community. With his partner Charlie Tyrrell, he built an agency on the values of service and respect. He wanted to improve the credit community and make Kansas City a better place to conduct business. It was not uncommon for Edward to travel the region to not only visit the creditors but also the debtors. He worked with many of them to improve their operations to ensure a more successful business.

Two generations and seventy years later, The Bessenbacher Co. is still on course to fulfill Edward's vision. Today, they provide a broad range of commercial credit services to not only the regional business community but across the country and even across the world. And they do it with an ever constant eye on customer service.

A lot has changed in the past 70 years, and The Bessenbacher Co. has grown and adjusted with those changes.
